What to wear and bring to class

 Classroom requirements

Mandatory dress code:

Scrubs, Closed toes shoes, Hair up, Nails short, Mask or face covering at all times.

Be prepared to:

 

Participate in all labs. Practice 6-foot social distancing. Complete the health questionnaire online before each class. Have your temperature checked.

WEEK 1 Intro to Dentistry and Infection Control

Week 1 Lecture (Three lectures)

 

 

Week 1 virtual discussion Thursday at 8:30pm following the lecture.

OSHA Infection Control, Sterilization & Intro to Dentistry. Will be watched on the student portal. Once complete email 1-2 questions regarding the week 1 lectures for the online review with the class.

 

Follow the invite sent to your email for the week 1 discussion and make sure your video and sound are on. We will review all the lecture questions as a class. Attendance will be taken for lecture hours at this time. We will do this for each lecture.

LAB in class Saturday  

Lab: Charting, tooth anatomy, tooth numbers, tour equipment and office. Practice room break down and spray wipe spray. PPE review and practice suctioning on Dextor. (do not forget about the dress code)

Read Ch 2, 3, 8-14 & 19-20 Modern Dental Assisting textbook.

The homework sheet will be emailed, submit answers through the link for Google Forms by Wednesday, May 13th at 7 pm. CH10, CH 11, CH19 & CH20

Week 2 Four handed dentistry and Resumes

Week 2 Lecture

Four Handed Dentistry, moisture control and resumes. Will be watched on the student portal. Once complete email 1-2 questions regarding the week 1 lectures for the online review with the class.

LAB in class Saturday 

Set up for Coronal Polish, Composite/Amalgam to practice instrument name and transfer, handpiece maintenance, loading syringe, rubber dam set up and placement, HVE placement and practice.
